Marsha came out of the back trail, she had finally made it to the main trails, all she needed to do was call her friends and see if any had time to go for a ride. Jewel whinnied impatiently as she awaited Marsha's call. She dialed the numbers, but decided not to call, texting would be easier and cheaper. She sent the text to all her good friends hoping that they would have time to go. Usually they did, but there's always unexpected things happening.

The day was sunny and warm. Dakota clicked her tongue as her painted stallion picked up his pace to a trot. He trotted along the trails with a low head, showing that he was relaxed as always. Soon, they came upon a part of the trail that turned off to the left. Of course, Dakota being the venturer she was, she turned the young stallion down the trail. When the trail ended, Dakota smiled. A vast green meadow spread out before them, stretching as far as the eye could see. "Ready for a good gallop, Trigger?" Dakota asked. The stallion threw his head up and snorted as if nodding yes.
Dakota gave the bit bridle more slack. It revealed most of his face, since it was only the part in front and behind the ears that held the bit in his mouth, making the halter whole. Dakota leaned over the saddle horn of Trigger and kicked his sides gently. The already warmed up stallion began gliding across the lands. His legs moved quickly, thrashing out to make his speed seem exhilarating, and it was. His head moved in perfect harmony to his legs, going down when his legs stretched out, and coming up when his legs were collected underneath, ready for the spring out again that would keep him going.
His mane bounced along his neck, almost hitting Dakota's face as they went along. The smile on her face was apparent. Her black and white checkered western shirt blew in the breeze caused by the galloping painted stallion. She kept her jeaned legs close to the horse, to keep her balance, and her booted feet further away, so she wouldn't make Trigger think he needed to over work himself to go faster than needed. However, the meadow wasn't as long as thought. But, Dakota was lost in thought, not paying any attention, and now, Trigger was galloping through the woods. It wasn't until Dakota was slapped in the face that she realized there was a deep gully ahead. She pulled on Trigger, but the downward slope made it too hard to stop.
"Whoa!" She screamed as the painted stallion fell over into the deep gully, and hit the ground. Dakota flew from the saddle, hitting her back against the dirt of the way out. She stood up and ran to Trigger, rocking him by his saddle until he stood. The stallion hung his head and cocked his leg as he waited for Dakota to check him. She bent his legs, all the while, he stood boredly. She then began to walk him around to find a place that would be easy for him to climb out. Once she found a place, she led him out. At first, she only kept leading by her reins until she stallion nudged her and then bowed onto one leg as she looked back at him. Dakota smiled and climbed onto the stallion's back. He then stood and continued the walk out.
When they were out of the woods, Dakota noticed another girl on her cell. Trigger pinned his ears for a moment, before realizing the horse she rode upon was a female. When the mare neighed impatiently, Trigger called back. His ears were perked forward, but Dakota held him back from the mare and girl, not sure how the other horse was around other horses. Stallions in general. Then Trigger reared, neighing. Dakota instinctively grabbed his mane with both hands and put all her weight forward so he'd fall onto his front hooves again.
